Rochelle Glivia is truly a woman who has many selfless thoughts.  She was recently honored with winning “The Ugliest Bedroom Contest”.  Among 29 amazing essays that gave detailed descriptions, vivid pictures and pleas for desperate assistance, the submission of Rochelle stood out and won the hearts of two amazing designers, Carol Bowman and Debbie Osborn, of A Change Of Space LLC, a local interior design company that held this unique contest in partnership with NBC 4 (WCMH-TV).

An Ohio native, Rochelle is a very deserving winner.  She is a 27 year old Army Veteran who served for seven years with one-year of service in Iraq.  Ms. Glivia is a graduate of Newark High School and was stationed in Ft. Carson, Colorado.  Her son, Chase, was only eighteen months old when she served her one-year tour in Iraq.  Rochelle received an Honorable Medical Discharge and left the Army in 2008 holding the title of Sergeant.

“Aside from my son, this is the best thing that has ever happened to me!” she stated.  Rochelle is is currently working full time while going to school to complete her degree in Psychology.  Five years ago, after a divorce, her ex-husband took the bedroom furniture and she has been unable to afford new furnishings.

Designers Carol Bowman and Debbie Osborn decided to award Rochelle with a bedroom makeover. This amazing makeover was  revealed on air on Friday, March 5th on NBC 4′s Daytime Columbus hosted by Gail Hogan.  Check out the designer’s amazing work in the pictures below.
